Editorial Standards
How this work is researched, sourced, reviewed, and kept honest.
AI Fashion Law exists to translate fast-moving AI and intellectual-property law into something an independent designer can actually act on. Because this is law, and because people make real decisions based on what they read here, I hold this site to standards I would want from any source I relied on. Here is how it works.
Who writes this
In addition to writing and editing this site, I am a lawyer and graduate-level professor. I am also working on my first novel, which incorporates many of the things I write about here.
How we report
Coverage is built on primary sources: the statutes, regulations, agency guidance, and court filings themselves, not summaries of summaries. Every article links the sources it draws on; I encourage you to read the underlying material. When the law is unsettled or a question has no clean answer, I say so plainly rather than papering over it.
How we use AI
This is a site about AI, so it would be strange to hide our own use of it. AI tools assist with research, drafting, and keeping the trackers current. Where a tool on this site generates content directly, such as the disclosure generator, that output is labeled as AI-generated and carries its own disclaimer. AI helps us move quickly; it does not get the final word.
Accuracy and corrections
The law changes, and we would rather be current than tidy. Articles show when they were written or last updated, and the live trackers are updated as the law moves. If you spot an error or something that has gone stale, email brooke@aifashionlaw.com and we will review and correct it promptly.
Not legal advice
Everything here is general information for educational purposes, not legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship. The right answer for your brand depends on facts this site cannot know. Before you rely on anything here, or publish a disclosure generated by our tools, talk to a qualified attorney about your specific situation.
Independence and disclosures
Editorial decisions on this site are mine, and coverage is not for sale. This site is not a substitute for representation; if you need counsel, I am happy to point you in the right direction. Where a relationship or affiliation is relevant to something you read here, it will be disclosed.
